Here at GB Dibden General Builders LTD we are very keen to develop and train our employees so participate in the government General Building Apprenticeship Scheme that combines working with studying for a work-based qualification.

The construction industry has had for many years a traditional apprenticeship programme covering general building. This framework will help to attract, retain and develop talent into a range of occupations at intermediate and advanced levels in construction and provide a platform to progress to supervisory and management level.

Kieran works full time at GB Dibden as one of our trusted apprentices. He originally studied at Brimsham Green Secondary School and currently studies at SGS Filton College one day per week as part of his employment. Kieran obtained C or above in Maths, English and Science. His day-to-day jobs include setting up tools for tradesmen, keeping the site tidy, watching and helping tradesmen closely to understand the principles of building processes and of course… teas and coffees!

Curtis also works full time at GB Dibden as one of our trusted apprentices. He originally studied at K.L.B school in Gloucestershire and now attends SGS Filton College one day per week as part of his employment. As Kieran, Curtis obtained C or above in Maths, English and Science. His day-to-day jobs include setting up tools for tradesmen, keeping the site tidy, watching and helping tradesmen closely to understand the principles of building processes and once again.. teas and coffees!

Both Kieran and Curtis will go on to achieve their NVQ level 1 and level 2 in General Building. This will represent satisfactory skills in brick and block laying, plastering and plaster boarding, rendering, carpentry, plumbing and tiling.
